Outside Power

Including garages, sheds, and outhouses.

External Sockets
If you want to plug in outside without the hassle and upset of trailing extension leads through windows and doors then an external socket mounted onto the outside of your house may be ideal for your needs. We can install a waterproof socket designed to be situated outdoors. This socket will be protected by an RCD, either the one in your current installation or one specifically for that socket.

Supplies To External Structures
If you want power in your garage, shed, or outhouses then we can install a cable back to your house together with a distribution board in the service area and install the required socket and lighting points.

The Supply Cable
To supply power to service points outside your house we run a cable from your house to the serviced structure by one of two methods.
Underground: The supply will be provided by a wire that runs underground between your house and the service area. This means that the cable is out of view and protected by the earth that is covering it.
Overhead wire: the supply cable is strung between the two structures, supported by a cateenatry wire, at a safe height.

Protection
The distribution board will include an RCD and circuit breakers, typically like the one in your house, which will afford protection of the installation in the service area and allow you to use the sockets to feed external equipment.
